The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne, located on Swanston Street, underwent significant renovations to create a more open and welcoming environment.
Providing general, specialist and emergency dental care to all eligible Victorians, the new architecture and lighting scheme aims to attract visitors whilst encouraging health and wellbeing. Buckford Illumination Group supplied BIG Essentials Neon Neo to visually connect the exterior with the interior, along with PROLICHT’s Idaho 75 and Super G Slim, enhancing wayfinding through architecture and light.
Moving further inwards, we supported Paul Morgan Architect’s biophilic strategy by illuminating the green wall with PROLICHT Centriq spotlights. The green wall and additional planting throughout the space are designed to help reduce patient anxiety. Exposure to greenery assists with nose reduction and improves air quality, contributing to a calming atmosphere.
We are proud to be involved in this refurbishment, supporting the hospital’s mission in providing comprehensive care to all Victorians.
