Kamay Botany Bay National Park in Kurnell strengthens the connection between people and place. Nestled within the National Park, Monument Track invites visitors to experience the coastal landscape while acknowledging its deep cultural heritage and natural environment.

Buckford Illumination Group NSW worked closely with Arup to deliver a lighting solution that enhances amenity along the foreshore pathway while protecting the bay and surrounding parkland’s flora and fauna.

We’re proud to supply the first Australian application of WE-EF LIGHTING’s WILD-LIGHT technology in a bollard format. The technology combines PC Amber and 3000K LEDs within a single luminaire. The PC Amber channel provides gentle base illumination throughout the night, while the 3000K channel is only activated when motion is detected, improving visibility when required and minimising ecological impact.

By using a bollard instead of a post-top luminaire, the design achieves precise light control and minimal spill, without impacting views of the horizon line.

The result is a safe, low-impact lighting scheme that respects both the site’s natural ecology and cultural significance.
