With all the hours spent perfecting the lighting in a gallery, it’s essential to keep sight of the main goal: how will the audience interact with the exhibition? Seeing an audience engaged, intrigued, and inspired is undoubtedly the most satisfying outcome for the team at Geelong Gallery.
Since the installation of the ERCO track system and Eclipse luminaires with interchangeable darklight lenses, supplied by Buckford in 2021, every new exhibition can be presented to perfection—one spotlight system, 28,000 possibilities. This flexibility is showcased in their latest exhibition, Cutting Through Time: Cressida Campbell, Margaret Preston, and the Japanese Print. The variety of lenses effectively illuminates the diverse approaches to painted woodblock and printmaking, inspired by the Japanese ukiyo-e tradition.
