Felixstowe Reserve

Felixstowe Reserve sitting in the north-eastern suburbs of Adelaide is a recreation space made up of grass areas, play spaces, fitness stations, and walking trails. Buckford was appointed by the City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters Council to provide a new lighting scheme for the walking trail as part of the redevelopment of the area.

The reserve is an extension of the conservation area formed by the River Torrens/Karrawirra Parri and is significant land to the indigenous custodians. WE-EF ZFT400 luminaires were selected to provide a secure pathway solution and celebrate the site’s natural features and local history. The ZFT400 series with a lens delivered effective pathway lighting without over-lighting the area. This ensured limited backlight, reducing glare for the surrounding residential area.

The minimalistic design of the ZFT400 with the ability to control its light provides visual comfort for the public, and are the key benefits of this chosen luminaire. The redevelopment of the Felixstowe Reserve has received several prizes and awards, including praise from the IES Lighting Society for the lighting design.
