MONA Extension

MEGS Lighting

The latest addition to MONA, Museum of Old and New Art, in Hobart is Pharos. This Mona extension is an art pillion housing permanent gallery spaces. The design and development process was completed by a collaboration between artists, engineers and lighting designers, MEGS lighting.

Pharos is only accessible via a tunnel from the main gallery and is built around serval works by Artist James Turrell. ERCO Luminaires are utilised throughout the Pharos Building. These luminaires uplight Turrel’s Unseen Seen, a giant, white ball, housing a psychedelic light show, which sits inside MONA’s Faro Restaurant.
